RADIO SWEETHEART

Vamos con el juego: dos canciones clásicas de la cultura del POP versioneadas por grupos rockabillys. Dos canciones tremendas con sus letras también tremendas.

Empiezo por "Radio Sweetheart" de Elvis Costello, esta canción es alegría; una de mis favoritas personales de todos los tiempos. Lo único que he encontrado en el youtube han sido dos actuaciones en directo que bah! y este otra montaje. Nada, lo típico, tres adolescentes que se graban un video casero y lo suben al youtube con la canción de marras como fondo. De todas formas, no es lo que parece, el video es bastante cándido, jajaja. A lo que vamos, la canción se sale, o al menos a mí me gusta mucho (nótese la fluidez en la redacción y la abundancia de adjetivos como consecuencia de la salida nocturna de ayer hasta las mil).

Y aquí la versión rockabilly que hacen los GUANA BATZ, curiosamente, conocí antes esta versión que la original. Debía tener más o menos 18 años cuando cayó en mis manos el disco de los Guana Batz y pasarían unos diez años más o así antes de llegar a Costello. He de decir que me parece una muy buena versión, con ese contrabajo guerrillero martilleando sin piedad.



"LAYLA"

Esta canción ya es sobradamente conocida y menudo pedazo de canción,por cierto. Pura pasión. Eric Clapton, Derek and The Dominos.

Y ahora vamos con la versión rockabilly que hacen los JAILBIRDS, bastante más corta que la original. Y además de en la canción, fijaros en la pinta de supermacho superduro que tiene el cantante del grupo. Da asquito, jajaja. De los que molaría partirles la cara en un gimnasio :) Tonteridas al margen, también me parece una estupenda versión.
