Domingos musicales: "Down In The Tube Station At Midnight" (THE JAM, 1978)

The distant echo -
of faraway voices boarding faraway trains
To take them home to
the ones that they love and who love them forever
The glazed, dirty steps - repeat my own and reflect my thoughts
Cold and uninviting, partially naked
Except for toffee wrapers and this morning's papers
Mr. Jones got run down
Headlines of death and sorrow - they tell of tomorrow
Madmen on the rampage
And I'm down in the tube station at midnight
I fumble for change - and pull out the Queen
Smiling, beguiling
I put in the money and pull out a plum
Behind me
Whispers in the shadows - gruff blazing voices
Hating, waiting
"Hey boy" they shout - "have you got any money?"
And I said - "I've a little money and a take away curry,
I'm on my way home to my wife.
She'll be lining up the cutlery,
You know she's expecting me
Polishing the glasses and pulling out the cork"
And I'm down in the tube station at midnight

I first felt a fist, and then a kick
I could now smell their breath
They smelt of pubs and Wormwood Scrubs
And too many right wing meetings
My life swam around me
It took a look and drowned me in its own existence
The smell of brown leather
It blended in with the weather
It filled my eyes, ears, nose and mouth
It blocked all my senses
Couldn't see, hear, speak any longer
And I'm down in the tube station at midnight
I said I was down in the tube station at midnight

The last thing that I saw
As I lay there on the floor
Was "Jesus Saves" painted by an atheist nutter
And a British Rail poster read "Have an Awayday - a cheap holiday -
Do it today!"
I glanced back on my life
And thought about my wife
'cause they took the keys and she'll think its me
And I'm down in the tube station at midnight
The wine will be flat and the curry's gone cold
I'm down in the tube station at midnight
Don't want to go down in a tube station at midnight

A CASOLA DO FOXO (XURÉS - BAIXA LIMIA)

Domingos musicales: "Hurt" (Johnny Cash, 2002)

I hurt myself today
to see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
the only thing that's real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but I remember everything
what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
upon my liar's chair
full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
beneath the stains of time
the feelings disappear
you are someone else
I am still right here

what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

if I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Viaxe ao país dos ananos

Botáronvos as sobras do banquete,

os restos do festín, o refugallo.

Conformes coa ración cativa, vades

surrindo moi contentos

coa surrisa dos neutros

que dormen sin remorso porque coidan

que o mundo está ben feito:

aquil arriba e aquiloutro embaixo,

no meio un mar de soños

e un río de saudades sin orelas.

Un perfeuto equilibrio. Cada cousa

debe estar no seu sitio.

O mandarín, mandando;

os mansos podrecendo e producindo.

Nos curutos están as caixas fortes

encheitas do suor dos inocentes.

Debaixo estades vós, caste de ananos,

sostendo a inxusticia.

Domingos musicales: "Don't Slip Away" (Jefferson Airplane, 1966)

Almost been a year since weve been together
Seems so long ago since you drifted away
Suddenly the past has fallen in behind us
Now all I know is I want you to stay

don't slip away, oh no, don't slip away
Now that you're here we should just let it happen

Some things are best if they're only forgotten
You know Im sorry, but what can I say?
The best years are after tomorrow
But time for changing should begin with today

don't slip away, oh no, don't slip away
Now that you're here we should just let it happen

You can't hide what we shared with each other
I know you still care and feel the same way
Im sure there's more love in your heart than you're showing

Now it depends on what you have to say
don't slip away, oh no, don't slip away
Now that you're here we should just let it happen

Domingos musicales: "Red Cadillac & A Black Mustache" (Warren Smith, 1957)
